Underground Oven

Ti leaves from around the house are used to trap steam and help cook food faster. They are also used to wrap food, chicken laolao, pork laolao, etc.
The basalt rocks that were used to help cook the pig leg.

Cooking food undergound. The dirt is all covered with the leaves.
The food is also wrapped in the same vegetation (banana, ti leaves).

We had this in Pohnpei last week. They put bread fruit in there, too.
