Friday Lunch....

Today's lunch was at Cappricciossa! I always love eating at Cappricciossa!
The service is always consistently good.

Lunch with my Mom,
Auntie Brenda and the Governor of the CNMI!

Auntie Brenda and Governor Fitial

This is one of the best pumpkin pie's on island!
Here is the critic side of this food blog: sometimes I get a pumpkin pie with fresh crust and sometimes the crust is a bit soggy. Either way, it is still yummy.

This is the dessert I mentioned in a previous blog, "Fritori'.

Meat sauce spaghetti. This is the special lunch, so it came with garlic bread. However, I prefer my usual order of seafood spaghetti!

Rosemary Chicken

Ceasar Salad

CHEESE....WOOOHOOO.....

From left to right: Uncle Bill and myself. We were trying to make silly faces!
I think Uncle Bill wins the prize on this one! LOL

Well, it turned out to be a really good lunch! I always love going to Cappricciossa, and this time the food was great, the company was even better and I got to eat two desserts in one sitting!!! (Fritori and pumpkin pie!)
woohoo.. I am a happy camper!

On a side note: Weight Watchers, here I come! LOL

Last night we went to Capricciosa (Italian Restaurant) to celebrate my brothers birthday. I have not been to Capricciosa in about a month, so I was more than excited to go there and eat seafood spaghetti. It was my brother's birthday, so that meant that my mom will be ordering pumpkin pie.. YUMMY... if you ever crave for really good pumpkin pie in Saipan, Capricciosa would be the place. However, ask for the fresh pie, because a nice fresh crust is always delicious.

Last night, I had one of the most wonderful desserts on Saipan. I am so bummed that I could not take a photo of it. I gave my son my camera, so I did not have the oppotunity of taking the photo of it. It was called "furizato or something like that". I will ask my mom today and post the name later. Anyway, OMG, it was HEAVEN. It was four or five crackers fried, it is there own crackers though, with a sauce and ice cream. OMG, it is so yummy.

Okay, gotta go to the Ace Hardware Sale.

Lunch and dinner

Last night, after the mass at the cemetary we went to have dinner at my sister's house. She actually planned on taking the day off so that she can cook all the delicious local meals, but she was too busy at work and could not take time out. So, she made some quick dishes, which also turned out to be delicious.

Pan fried pacific blue marlin (fish) steaks, with Mrs. Dash lemon seasoning

Local style corned beef and onions! I prefer my corned beef sauted with green beans, or sauted with cubed potatoes, but this was equally satisfying.
Kimchee... spicy...yummy.. To the left is a island style dipping sauce made of soysauce, onions, lemon and hot peppers..

TODAY's OBENTO

My daughter's bento is grilled hotdogs, crabroll, steamed rice, steamed crabmeat and some slices of Kiwi fruit.

My son gets the same lunch, but he also gets two steaks of marlin (from last night's dinner). My son loves to eat fish, so he requested to take some marlin last night, with the intention that it be included in his lunch.

Cappricciossa

Even if my blog title is Taotao Tasi (People of the Sea), I have been thinking about making my blog site a site about local eateries here... since I enjoy eating out, perhaps I would share my favorite dishes within local restaurants, and or local eating joints, whether it be for food, blended drinks, or just anything!)

Here is a photo of our dinner on Monday, June 16 at Cappricciossa in Garapan.
Here are my top choices for Cappricciossa:

1) Seafood Spaghetti (Large bowl)
2) Quatro Formazzio Pizza (Large / 16") (1/2 Quatro Formazio, 1/2 marina)
3) Pumpkin Pie...... the best part (especially when the crust is fresh, instead of soggy)
Locals / Military discount = 10%
4) Drink - order a 1/2 & 1/2 (1/2 iced tea & 1/2 lemonade)
*They also have lunch specials which cost under $10

Here is my mom and my sister's son Adrian.
Here is the large bowl of seafood spaghetti!
Here is good ol' mom putting a bowl of spaghetti for all her kiddies (actually grandkids).
Here is Baby Ki... She is getting ready to dig in!
This is one of the best pizzas on island, nevermind those franchised pizza joints,
I go to the source, an italian restaurant... Cappricciossa
Bon Apetite!
