Saipan's famous dessert is Lantiyas. It is delicious and very filling!

  • Sponge cake (cut in slices and lay on a platter, you can use Sara Lee pound cake if you prefer)
  • Prepare a custard topping by combining milk, egg, sugar, butter on medium low heat, stirring constantly until thick (enough to coat back of spoon) and thickening with corn starch. For added cream and that extra yummy flavor, cool the custard mixture and then coat the top of the sponge cake.
  • sprinkle generously with cinnamon.
